The Arbor Course

The Arbor is Trappers newest nine. Bordering a Wisconsin State Park, members commonly think of The Arbor as the most enjoyable to play, but not necessarily the easiest to navigate.

Hole 1

Aim your drive at the "Bull's eye" bunker, but don't get in it. A good drive short of the "Bull's eye" bunker will leave only a short iron into this medium sized, flat green.

PAR 4

Don't get caught in the "Bull's eye" bunker!

Hole 2

Favor the right side off the tee to avoid the water on the left. If you go for the green in two, it must be shaped left to right and it must land short because the green runs away, front to back. Not a hard hole if managed correctly.

PAR 5

Favor the right side off the tee!

Hole 3

A water hazard guards the left side of the green while a bunker and a stand of trees are on the right. If you hit it too far right you will end up in a canyon in Rocky Arbor State Park. The deep green is narrow in the front portion, but gradually widens toward the back.

PAR 3

This hole features a water hazard, bunker and a stand of trees!

Hole 4

From the back tees, one of the toughest holes on the course. Tee shot must be shaped left to right to avoid fairway bunker and water on left and trees on right. Approach shot must be high and straight due to the green being very flat. Take a par here and run!

PAR 4

Take a par here and run!

Hole 5

This short par four is trickier than it appears. Your tee shot must make it past the trees on both sides of the fairway to have an unobstructed shot to the green. Your approach must be high because, again, this hole has a very flat green.

PAR 4

Trickier than it appears!

Hole 6

On this hole, the drive is particularly important. There is a marsh running down the left, and then it crosses the fairway approximately 135 yards from the center of the green. Bunkers also protect each side of the fairway. Your approach shot is just as challenging with 4 bunkers that surround the green, with the green itself being very undulated.

PAR 4

Go for the perfect drive on this hole!

Hole 7

By far the toughest par 3 on the Arbor nine, if not at Trappers Turn. This is the longest par 3 and has water on three sides and a bunker on the other. The good news is this green is large and receptive to a well struck shot. Note the wind on this tee.

PAR 3

The toughest par 3 on the Arbor nine!

Hole 8

With the infamous "Serpentine" bunker running down the entire left hand side of the landing area, your drive must be accurate. If your drive does find the fairway, a long hitter will have the opportunity to go for the green in two. But if your tee shot ends up in the serpentine bunker, don't look forward to being able to advance the ball very far. Three bunkers, one short and one on each side shelter the moderately sized and undulated green.

PAR 5

Watch out for the "Serpentine" bunker!

Hole 9

Your tee shot must be straight and long enough to reach the corner of this dogleg right. Your approach shot is very picturesque, with trees lining both sides of the fairway and Mystic Lake, the bridge and waterfall in the background. The second shot should be high to hold a fairly level green and straight to avoid the two bunkers on the left.

PAR 4

Avoid the two bunkers left of the green!
